Mopalia muscosa (Gould, 1846)

Mopalia muscosa can be found in the middle and lower intertidal zone on rocky shores. The eight plates are quite often covered with growths of algae.The girdle with hair-like bristles .The plates are brown or dark grey in colour, and a turquoise blue on the inner surfaces. Some are so fluorescent .

Similar is Mopalia lignosa.
