Husbandry

Very special thanks for the first photos of Trachyrhamphus serratus to Satoshi Yamamoto, Izuzuki Dive, Japan.,

Trachyrhamphus serratus inhabits sand and mud substrates, Sargassum beds and gravelly bottoms around rocky reefs at depths of 15-100 meters.
Little is known about population size or trends, or about levels of offtake from wild populations but the species ist collected for traditional medicines, especially in China.
