Originally described as a Facelina, this species has a specialized cerata, modified for copulation, as do other species in this unique genus.
The body colour varies from white to yellow orange. The body is translucent. There is a thin line extending down the tail.
Pruvotfolia rhodopos often found under rocks that are overgrown with Millepora fire coral, which appears to be their food source.
There is some disagreement about the generic placement of this sea slug.
