Pandaka pygmaea is found in brackish waters and mangrove areas of Indonesia, depth range 0 - 2 meters.
Pandaka pygmaea is usually found in areas with soft muddy bottom and around aquatic plants.
The Dwarf pygmy goby has been apparently imported into Germany in 1958.
