Info

Prosimnia semperi (Weinkauff, 1881)

Prosimnia semperi is a smarine gastropod mollusk in the family Ovulidae, the ovulids, cowry allies or false cowries.

The finely ribbed surface and densely lirate outer lip distinguish Prosimnia semperi. This species has been recorded on a gorgonian Mopsella ellisi. It takes on the colour of the gorgonian on which it lives and feeds.

Similar to Prosiminia draconis.
