Cerithidea decollata (Linnaeus, 1767)

Cerithidea decollata, common known as the Truncated Mangrove Snail lives on Mangrove Forests. The thick, strong, elongate shells have 5 whorls and about 20 axial ribs. Shell colour is grey brown. Habitat: on the trunks of mangrove trees.

Its feed on small organic particles (detritus) and seagrasses that are brought in with the tide.
