Lottia pelta (Rathke, 1833)

Lottia pelta, common name the shield limpet, is a species of sea snail, a true limpet, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Lottiidae.

Can be found in the intertidal zone on rocks and kelp holdfas. Its a algae grazer.

Similar to Lottia scutum.

One of its predators is the murex snail Paciocinebrina lurida.
