Info

Colpodaspis sp.

A small head shield snail from the genus Colpodaspis. These snails, which are only a few millimeters in size, have a small shell and a head shield. Unfortunately, little is known about these animals.

The photo of the scientifically undescribed species was taken from Bali.

The genus Colpodaspis currently contains only two scientifically described species:
Colpodaspis pusilla M.Sars, 1870
Colpodaspis thompsoni G.H. Brown, 1979

The fried egg snail (Colpodaspis thompsoni) is best known for its pattern reminiscent of fried eggs.
