Lissocarcinus polybioides Adams & White, 1849

Lissocarcinus polybioides is a small swimming crab that lives in association with starfish. The tank length is approx. 2cm. The base color is a simple brownish. Much better known are their colorfully interesting relatives, the cylinder rose swimming crab Lissocarcinus laevis and the sea roller swimming crab Lissocarcinus orbicularis.

The starfish swimming crab is host to the parasite Loxothylacus kossmanni Boschma, 1955.
