Ceratocarcinus trilobatus (Sakai, 1938)

The family Eumedonidae includes marine crabs that mainly live on sea urchins.Ceratocarcinus longimanus belongs to the family Eumedonidae, but is always found on sea pens. Sea pens (Crinoidea) belong to the phylum Echinodermata and are therefore related to sea urchins and starfish.

According to WoRMS, the genus Ceratocarcinus currently contains only the following 3 described species:
Ceratocarcinus frontodentata (Chen & Dai in Shen, Dai & Chen, 1982)
Ceratocarcinus longimanus White, 1847
Ceratocarcinus trilobatus (Sakai, 1938)

Host records: Ceratocarcinus trilobatus has always been seen from feather stars of genus Comanthus.
