Specimens of Carcinoplax mistio were collected at depths of 50–100 meters off the coastal waters of Tamil Nadu in the Bay of Bengal in India

Details about the preferred bottom structure, biology and nutrition of Carcinoplax mistio are currently lacking.

The crab's shell is orange, the fingers of the claws and the upper side of the walking legs are white, the upper arm of the walking legs is generally orange.

Largest carapace data obtained: 36.7mm × 27.5 mm (female)
