Info

McMurrich, 1904

Chilean sea anemones – the forgotten flowers of the sea, according to a report on cold-water anemones in the southeastern Pacific.

Of course, reef aquarists who keep warm-water anemones cannot readily understand this statement.
Nevertheless, many pictures, such as the cold-water actinia Actinostola chilensis here in the encyclopedia, show that cold-water animals are in no way inferior to warm-water anemones in terms of beauty.

Specimens of the species Actinostola chilensis prefer exposed positions in order to catch enough plankton.

Divers have photographed large areas densely covered with sea anemones of the species Actinostola chilensis.
This anemone is not yet available in stores.

Reproduction:
There are male and female specimens of this sea anemone.

Synonym: Actinostola clubbi · unaccepted
