Volutella muricata (Born, 1778)

Volutella muricata has a large, thick and heavy shell. It reaches a length of 145 mm. The shell is quite elongated, conical or vase-shaped. There are blunt spines on the shell, the color is off- white with black or dark brown.

This snail lives in shallow water and preys on worms.
