A seal very similar to the harbor seal, inhabiting the North Pacific from Alaska along the Pacific coast of Siberia to Japan and Korea. Males grow to 1.7 meters in length, females to 1.6 meters, but are otherwise indistinguishable. Largha seals come onto the pack ice to breed. They give birth to their young there from February to May. Outside of the breeding season, they migrate south.
