Snails genus Haminoeidae have a bubble shaped shell.Therefore it is called bubble snails.All Haminoeidae snails are herbivorous.

Atys semistriatus feeds on algae and vegetable detritus.The Variably Banded Bubblewidely snail is widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific.The egg mass is whit to pale pinkish in colour.
