Info

Choridactylus natalensis is usually brownish, brown, pinkish, speckled with yellow, and has white spots on its head and face.

The stonefish's coloring is almost perfectly adapted to its environment. Divers in particular must be very careful when photographing this stonefish in its habitat, as it has poisonous fin rays.
Although this species of stonefish is relatively small compared to others in its family, its toxicity should not be underestimated and it should never be approached without protective gloves.
They can also cause stings as a defensive reaction, especially when disturbed, by making sudden, lightning-fast movements.

Synonym: Choridactylodes natalensis Gilchrist, 1902 · unaccepted
