Psammocora exesa
As a rule, this coral is not as demanding in terms of light and water as its small polyp counterparts, but should also be provided with nutrient-poor water and sufficient lighting.
However, it does not have to be exposed to light but can also be established near the bottom.
We have only seen this species once in many years.
Similar Species: Coscinaraea columna. Psammocora digitata has a similar growth-form but much finer corallites.
Synonyms:

Coscinaraea exesa (Dana, 1846) · unaccepted > superseded combination
Coscinastrea exaesa (Dana, 1846) · unaccepted > superseded combination (misspelling)
