First observation for Reunion Island and (obviously) a new species for me too. 152nd species observed while snorkeling exclusively in the lagoons and rock pools of Reunion.

Plocamopherus ceylonicus (Kelaart, 1858)

On the foot- and mantle margin are orange-yellow spots.The foot extends into a long tail.

Plocamopherus ceylonicus have four pink tubercel which flashes light (bioluminescence) when disturbed.How it works is not known. This species can swim if disturbed.

Plocamopherus ceylonicus found at depths of 5-110 m.Polyceridae often nocturnal.This nudibranch feeds exclusively on mossanimals (bryouoans).
