Very special thanks for the first two photos of Odontoscion xanthops to Dr. Gerry R. Allen, Australia, he has taken the photos at Panama, Central America.

This benthopelagic species is found in shallow water to depths of 30 m, and entering estuaries and river mouths. It forms schools and feeds mainly on crustaceans and pelagic fishes.
