Hallaxa hileenae Gosliner & S. Johnson, 1994

The purple background colour and a Y-shaped ridge on the mantle is immediately distinguishable from other members of the genus Hallaxa.

The name "hileenae" was chosen in honor of Eileen Sobeck (hileen is the Papua New Guinea pidgin name for Eileen).

Hallaxa hileenae have a sponge-like appearance and feeds on sponges.
