Husbandry

Characters: Colonies are composed of thin delicate unifacial laminae forming flat or slightly upright whorls or irregular contortions. Corallites are immersed, but clearly visible. The coenosteum is coarse. There are no papillae. The surfaces of fronds have a finely rough appearance. Polyps may be extended during the day.

Colour: Pale brown or mauve.

Habitat: Shallow turbid reef environments and lagoons.

Abundance: Usually uncommon.

Similar species: Montipora capricornis
