Husbandry

Chaetodon hoefleri lives in rocky and sandy coastal areas and feeds on benthic invertebrates. It lives in pairs and at 27 cm maximum length it gets quite large.

The species is practically never imported and as such nothing is known on aquarium husbandry. That the fish has a broad spectrum of acceptable foods hints, however, at a general feasibility of keeping the animal in captivity.
