Dardanus sanguinocarpus Degener, 1925
Family Diogenidae (Left-handed hermit crabs).
Dardanus sanguinocarpus habitat: Hard bottom, rock and rubbles. Common in medium-sized shells at any depth. Hairy, legs flesh-colored with white bands, one or two black spots (bright red in deep water) above second segment, red and purple above pincers. Attains carapace width of 1.5 inch. Known from the Hawaiiian, Marquesas, and Marshall Islands.
Similar to Dardanus robustus, Dardanus umbella, Dardanus longior and Dardanus sanguinolentus.
Dardanus sanguinocarpus is a little known species.
