The species must be genetically confirmed, as it is sometimes interpreted as a variant of Signanus argenteus (G, Allen, pers. comm., August 2024).
According to WoRMS and ECoF, it is a valid species, correctly identified, but no photos of this rabbitfish are available.
Coastal species found near coral reefs. Probably forms schools.
Either this rabbitfish is a (very) rare species or it has not yet been recorded separately from similar species.

This little-known species inhabits coastal reefs (Allen and Erdmann 2012), with a maximum total length of 23 cm (Allen and Erdmann 2012).
