Sclerophytum sandense is on the one hand relatively widespread and very interesting for medicinal purposes (extracts of the soft coral are used in anti-inflammatory and anticancer drugs), but aquaristically almost nothing is known about the animal, so even standard data such as the size of the coral are missing.
