Info
Adults of Plectorhinchus chubbi are bronze in color with small white spots, the lips are pink, as shown in the great photo by Tony Rebello, the Elegant Sweetlip was photographed in Sodwana Bay, South Africa.
Photos of live bronze sweetlips are not so easy to obtain
Juvenile animals are dark olive green to greyish, but this raises questions about the colors of the two photos taken by Dr. Randall, as the two fish with a total length of 25.2cm and 35.56cm are not juveniles, but also not yet adults, but already show or begin to show the bronze color.
Juveniles are often found in shallow, weedy areas where they can find sufficient food and shelter.
Plectorhinchus chubbi is fished commercially and is also a sought-after prey for sport anglers.
