Eastern Atlantic: Bay of Biscay to Mossamedes, Angola, including the Mediterranean and Black Sea, Madeira, Canary Islands, and Azores. Western Atlantic: Bermuda and Brazil.

Biology:
Found in coastal and offshore waters.
Feeds mostly on fish, less often on cephalopods and crustaceans.
